analagous study with pastel - c&c okay

hello

14"h x 11"w on paper
with Nupastels and Rembrandts .

i can imagine this fellow in
Cavalier-type clothing .

the ref pix that i took had a green lawn b/g
with overcast and a window of late afternnon sun .
>> mastering Those undertones ? ...
> decided on a very close focal length with the painting
and tried to pay attention to the values/colour for emphasis .

i like the potential of a Classic oil palette
where raw umber is a transition colour of shadow
adapted to pastel .
> appears that recent muted green formulations
catch that issue .
