Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross
Year Created: 2004
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Metal
Dimension: est 80 x 40
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
materials...metal, toy helmet, stick, fiberglass, paper

hard to see here but one eye has a large stick in it...makes it hard to really see the spec in others eyes...

this piece was asked to be removed from my recent show so i added the nude icon for those with unsure convictions...

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
how can someone call themselves a Christian while promoting killing those who disagree with them..

a tangible thought from the religous right comes into materialization

Re: american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross

Well, I'm not into political art
(or politics at all for that matter)
too many people think they know how things should/could go
(part of the problem...people disagree )
it is far more complicated than meets the eye
problems that exist today have their roots many decades ago
and from the beginning of "man-kind"
hard to stop an avalanch...
the world has been going to hell in a hand basket forever...
or so they say...
if only wishing /protesting for peace were all it took
I think it would have happened a long time ago
especially during the 60's
Oh well...
enjoy the love and peace you have
and do your best to "be the miracle"
instead of just wishing for a miracle
(not directed to you...just a note)

anyway, it is an interesting piece
creative
should not have been removed

Peace!

the miracle will be when more, and more of us begin to realize that we are all part of one planet...and are all brothers and sisters...that we all came from the same single source...and we are only here for a short time...and the worlds resources are limited....so lets make it a party instead of all the crap...and it is happening... there are others... the thoughtwaves are being picked up by those who are listening...and the future will be better...you dont change minds with bullets, you do it with reason....my song is not one of futility.and thanks for your points

Re: american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross

I appreciate your thoughts and feelings
there are just too many "bad" people out there wanting control
(and the thoughts of "who they are" will differ with differnt oppinions)
nothing is simple...unfortunately...
the US...however faulted it is...is the world leader
(that is unfortunate, on many levels, in itself)
I almost wish the world were more isolated from eachother
(except for WC, of course! )
so "we" would not have to "know" about eachother
and take some sort of "actions" good or bad...and they are mixed.
there has been NO nation guilt free from bad actions against mankind.

If everyone wanted peace...it would be heaven
but, alas, we are on earth.
and to have "peace" (of some kind) anywhere...
it takes an army infront of it to protect it.
and thems the way the apples fall.
human nature, in general, I am sorry to say,
will probably not ever allow for world wide peace
hell, many families have a hard enough time!!?
I'm most happy to say that my family is war free and filled with love.
and I hope that for every family...and the world family too

cheers!

Isn't this is something we should be doing anyway. It's got to be a winner all the way.

Mikey...in a wonderful world, yes...(its called heaven)
(and I agree to strive for peace and love
and agree we are all one, ultimately/primarily/infinately etc...truely!)
as far as reasoning...
do you honestly think you could have reasoned with
the men who flew into the world trade buildings??

again...things are just not that simple...wish they were.

Re: american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross

stephanf...a thought/queation for you...
do you think this art promotes peace?...real peace?
honestly? from all angles?

or, maybe, are you singling out for blame and persecution?
and not showing the whole human picture...and possible answers?
showing the way to peace...
blame helps nothing...certainly not peace...only discord...
creates only...
either people jumping on the band wagon...or...
people getting defensive

food for thought...I hope...

and Gin- i hope you are astute enough to distinguish between those that flew into the buildings as compared to what iraq is about...(although they are connected in a way in both groups didnt like usa, and if the taliban is smushed like a bug, good)...but here we like to have the ability to make distinctions and have opposing opinions and not get shot for saying it...and those hypocrites that want to take away my rights to say what i think are only going to make me yell louder...its about freedom...not saying it but practicing it..

heck there are plenty other problems in the world but i see the main one is this time and resources wasted on war...and some people are getting rich off of it...dont you see that

Hi Gini,

For all of our best intentions the reality just doesn't always match. I said elsewhere that reason cannot appeal to lust for power, and just look to a few places these days. I don't think reason can appeal to heated passions either. It's my own inclination to cut myself off from all of that, but I'm in this world and not sure I can in the end. If I ignore certain things I feel myself to be weaker and less of a person.

I'm into complicated political art-- it's nice when it shows both sides of the story-- the conflict-- you know?

This one is a little one-sided-- but I like it anyway. It's kinda 60s though... you know? I's like to see the logos larger and more all over it and such.

I love your great big tactile in your face stuff- and the more I get to know you, the more your stuff makes me smile...sorry, that's right, your stuff makes me smile. I like your use of the hybrid corporate logos...and the stick in the eye.

You are something else!

Re: american crusaders firesale of the twisted cross

i retract that Gini- you are right about assigning blame...i am assigning blame to those persons who make lots of money in selling arms and assigning all the best minds to making weapons of mass destruction...its called the military industrial complex...without an enemy and fear..they wont have a product to sell..
this piece is as much about what has been going on here since the early 80s...as it is about the latest war....the praise the lord pass the ammo hypocrites have been around quite awhile...its just they hijacked the government and are a threat to us all...

some of our discussion has gone off onto the current quagmire..and talked about different sides and such....but this piece isnt limited to the current conflicts....

like in the early 80s they lied to you and me...the russkies are all ahead of us we gotta build more bombs....soon russia dropped out...and we kept on building more and more bombs....

whatdya think they were gonna do with em
so i know there are other evils out there...

the theme boiled down of this piece is this...put your own house in order before you go start fixing everone elses problems...our tax dollars are going to kill people and there are people getting rich off it...wannna guess who???this in turn teaches our children that violence is the way to solve things and he with the biggest stick MUST be right, so they mimic what they are taught...and the beat goes on...

and by the way it is an election year>
dont you think the strongest nation in the world can lead better than this...
dont you think that maybe had they gotten all those responsible for 911 to have been the thing to do before you go attack iraq...

and if you believe that it was to make iraq free for iraqi's to run as they see fit...that means your probably a republican and have lots of money to spend as your war stocks have all gone up...you should buy this piece and hide it...its 59,999.95plus shipping and handling..
