Life During War Time
A few manipulations I made with my own shots with a WW2 theme.

Re: Life During War Time
To my eyes these look authentic.
Great eye for composition and coloring effects.
Did you design these or did you manipulate existing images?
Thanx for posting.
(btw- this forum does not get a lot of visitors, don't expect a lot of viewers or comments. It is our 'secret' forum...)

Re: Life During War Time
Thanks! I designed them all from scratch. Planes are from various airshows, train was a film shot I took in the 80s, back ground in the top one from a trip out west years ago, and Brittany Jean and Ruby were two excellent models I've worked with.

Re: Life During War Time
Thanks! Here's one more that went with those. Background was shot a couple years before the model in it was born. Since it was a b&w film shot, I gray scaled the whole thing, then 'painted' it all in layers with PSP 7.

Re: Life During War Time
Well, I am totally blown away.
You abound with Manipulation talent.
These also indicate that you love what you do and have passion because I know these take a long time to create and get "perfect".
Can we get a standing ovation here????

Re: Life During War Time
Another great series. Not only do you come up with great concepts, you also manage to find all the component elements needed to make them work and if that's not enough, you have the skills to put it all together seamlessly. You managed to make these creations convey all the reality of the period. I admire your grasp of getting all the little details right and your abilities with Paint Shop Pro. It is an excellent editing program and much more user friendly that Photoshop. I will look forward to seeing more of your work.

Re: Life During War Time
Engine4024,
Lee said it so well. I don't think that I can add anything more to that but beg to see more.
I do have a question. Do you come up with the creative poses for the models? You obviously have in mind what props you are going to use and have to have them stand as if they are holding them, leaning against them, walking over them, etc.
There outfits, hair, and make up are so PERFECT!

Only partly. They usually have a good idea of what we're going for. My extent of directing is usually just 'Look over there like you're looking at a plane.' My directing skills need work. lol
These two were examples of that. The one of her with the C47s I think I just caught her looking up at a bird or something. The one of her with the bomb, she was just leaning on a brick post at the beach concession stand.
I really don't have anything definite planned when I shoot (most of the time). I just have a lot of stock I shot and it all gets fit in somehow.
And I only give the models suggestions on what to wear. Something vintage, 40s or 50s looking. They've done great with that!

Re: Life During War Time
Here's most of the parts for the top upload here. I think the sky is on disc somewhere and the smoke from the plane was from another shot I can't find.
