        Cherry blossom in full bloom at the local shrine. Through the red shrine gate or Tori, stairs lead up through the cherry blossoms to the shrine. Late afternoon over two sessions, oils on 7 x 10 ply panel. The red of the gate really glows even in dim light so I might take it down a bit so its not the focus.

            Colin, looks like you are standing on a cliff looking down and across a ravine(?). I like the effect. The gate does not look bright compared to blossoms or distant hills to me. Nice to see your work again. Gary

                    Thanks Gary. The land drops down to a river and I’m on the other side.
                    Thanks Johnbonn. I want to go back and paint that lit hill against the dark trees.
