Here is my newest 10x8 inch board called "Shy Freesia." I've learned some things about composition in this one. I did the small fern-like part first and that made it difficult to balance out the larger flowers in tone. Next time I will do the large elements first and the fillers second. Learning learning...

By the way, how do you get your pictures to come out small on this site? Mine always post so huge, even when I size them to 800pix.

I just want to say I LOVE your work. Not just subject and technical skills but your compositions are wonderful. Kudos to you.

And as for resizing. The few times I've posted pictures, I've resized down to 500 pixels on the longest side. Usually 72 dpi.

You don't have to stick to the 800 pixels. It is just the largest they will accept. I do mine about 500-600 longest side.

72dpi is the highest resolution monitors can "see" and if you size your picture with 800 pixels, if the resolution is higher your picture will show larger.

Stunning as usual...

I've done that 'tone' thing, too, where an area is whiter than I'd realized. I've found that, when I'm scratching nearby areas, if I brush the ink dust over the whiter area, it helps tone it down quite a bit. (I try not to do the 'watered down ink with a brush' trick because I'm still learning that one.)
