Trying to get myself back into a daily sketching and painting habit. So, as I did a couple of years ago, I am doing a Bird a Day in my sketchbook. (Stillman and Birn Alpha series, 6×9″. Mostly Daniel Smith watercolors.)

C+C always welcome.January 8, 2018 at 7:07 am #536581I love the Victoria Crowned Pigeon ….so clever how the stunning plumage is supported by a background which speaks the same language in terms of brushstroke.
As long as there is light, I will paint it.

January 30, 2018 at 6:12 pm #536572The vulture’s my favorite – very striking and I love the sense of volume it has.
Looking forward to seeing more!
February 11, 2018 at 2:02 pm #536576Thanks. The Vulturine Guineafowl (not an actual vulture!) is my favorite, too!

C+C always welcome.April 10, 2018 at 12:54 am #536582I’ve been doing a bird a day myself. I guess we think alike. For me, birds are a bit easier to draw, for one thing but I don’t like drawing much, and for another, I like birds a lot.
You’re doing great. I’m admiring the ones you’ve posted. It’s nice to see someone else doing the same sort of thing.
I’ll figure out a way to post some of mine as soon as I can. I’m not very knowledgable about resizing the photos yet, but I’ll see if my daughter can help me sometime soon.
