You did the right thing by making the fence lighter.
There is a line that goes across the top of the dog's head (on the right) that lines up with the top of the fence. Often it is best to make lines stop at a T, rather than lining up with other objects. I was going to suggest you move the fence up or down a bit, then you could keep it dark.

I think a stronger source of light would help define the forms better, with the dogs, the girls face and hands too. You paint well, so I figured you knew that already but it was not clear from your underpainting.

Wonderful job. When I read your first post asking about anything that jumps out, my first thought was that the pups are still in her arms instead of running off playing. My friend had border collies, and they were NEVER still!
Congratulations on your second place win. You deserv it.

Very nice so far, I agree the girl's face looks a bit wider than in the photo also the puppy's nose and muzzle look a bit off in the dog on the left. Since you have changed the angle of the dog from the photo maybe look at some photos of border collie puppies to see if that is helpful.
