Galas and pear

10X20
Oil on canvas

The edge on the pear seems sharper in the photo than it does on the painting.
How do they look?

Re: Galas and pear

hmmm, the pear edge seems reasonably soft to me, whereas the apple edges seem more crisp. Overall a nice, harmonic painting. The subject matter and reflections very much in your style.

Re: Galas and pear

I think the composition is spot on and the rendering of the fruit is very good indeed.

It looks great. The subtle shift of color in the apples is very well done. It is always inspiring to see the members' works.

Thank you, all, for looking and commenting.
Yes, Allison, the subject matter and reflections are in my style.
Having apples in that setup is convenient for me, so I use it often.

Really nice Bill! The shape at the head of the left apple seems out of place-

Re: Galas and pear

Nicely done- does the apple on left have a stem? Could be a nice textural addition??? Love the composition- perfect!

Hi Lisa
This Long Island native transplanted to Hamilton, NJ hasn't been up your way in a while, but my warm memories of cherished family vacations in the Adirondack region are vivid.
I enjoyed browsing the images on your web site. Thank you.

I can't say whether that apple had a stem but I can say that it was declicious.
