Portrait (oil / black & white)

Hello everyone!

This one is a bit old (four years old). Colors used : Black (Ivory black from Rembrandt) , White (Titanium White from Rembrandt) and cold gray (from Rembrandt).
Photo is cropped.

Interesting one. Not sure quite what I make of it. Certainly well painted but I'll have to come back to it.

123harry I appreciate.
This portrait depicts my wife Georgia Mavroudaki (Μαυρουδάκη Γεωργία). When I was painting it I was maynly concerned with black and white / chiaroscuro process. But I used a limited amount of pigments, so my darks are not strong enough and the tonal range is not as wide as I wanted.

I'm not sure about the expression, but your values and proportions are very good.

Thank you all for your time and comments.
The placement of portraits eyes is deliberate. I remember a teacher which had this strange gaze (she was cross-eyed) that had a fixating impact on me and gave to her figure an appearance of occult wisdom.
Least but not last, I think that showing the relevant pencil sketch that I had as a source clarifies my process.
