Re: WIP: Started January 25th--->

Thanks so much Bob, Greencook, JayD and Angi! I really appreciate it.

Greencook- Your comment about "lighting" is definitely valid. The actual piece has a far less contrasted look and is much "softer" in person. Unfortunately, to make the black levels appear as they do in person I have to take down the brightness of the scanned image thus creating a more contrasted look than I'd like. But you get the basic idea.

JayD- I squeezed in as much detail as I could without making it look "sketchy" or hand-drawn if that makes any sense.

Thanks again! I'll post more soon!

Paul

Paul,
I hear you about having to adjust digital files. When we first got our scanner, my posts always looked like there was a snowstorm going on. I really thought the damn thing was possessed! Then, all of a sudden, it scans super images. Go figure - and I should have thought about that before posting it. Although some of your other works you've shared have been quite soft, so I thought there was a chance you were going for a certain look.

Seeing your work in person would be too cool. I'll bet the detail to be seen would knock my socks off.

Have a great day!

After seeing your latest piece I think your socks would stay firmly on your feet! But I appreciate the kind words, Greencook.

This is amazing. So when you mean tiny strokes, you really mean tiny strokes! Around the tooth and everything. (I can barely see the tooth, let alone draw around it). Your drawing is going to look very arresting when it's framed and hung on a wall. Such an unusal pose. Thanks so much for sharing your WIP!

Thanks so much Greenpearl and Peter!

And yes, Greenpearl, I do mean "tiny" strokes. Sometimes my hand hurts trying to barely touch the paper on some layers, just dropping off traces of graphite to lightly fill areas without making them look spotty.

Thanks again, I'll post the finished piece soon.

Almost finished- Just doing touch-ups on the face, light layering and subtle defining. Here's a close up scan of progress. It should be finished soon.
