Re: Mosaic artists

Yes I would like to see a mosaic channel. It is just as much of an art form as any other medium. I have done a few tables and found it great fun and yes addictive. After seeing the beautiful back splash posted by Redcaw, I too am tempted to try that. Hope you like my tables and thanks for looking. Fay

Re: Mosaic artists

Fun stuff Shawn and Tigress. Great work. There hasn't been enough interest so far in a mosaic forum unfortunately. Most of the glass artists don't even look at the mosaic threads. I don't know why that is. There are some fabulous mosaic groups on Flickr and the artists are very supportive of each other.

Maybe if we keep posting here, someone will take notice.

Li

I for one would like to see more from both of you.

I mostly paint and occasionally dabble in mosaics. I think, over the years, I've maybe done 10 or so. This past year I did 4. Most of these are about 22- 30" wide except the portal fish which is slightly smaller. I cut out my substrates into shapes. Sorry- the uploader quit on me after one. But you get the idea.

Jtownsend- cool portrait!

That is amazing. The bird looks awesome.

Re: Mosaic artists

Thank you Roz! That mosaic gave me nightmares ( all of the delicate cut-outs) but I liked the end result.

And thanks ShawnD! I love that little turtle even though he was just a simple little fella.

Hopefully we will see more mosaics on here!

Li

I am an accident waiting to happen when it comes to snippers and glass so I watch in wonder. These are beautiful - all of them. I am so in awe. I'm sayin' if you post, they will come!

Re: Mosaic artists

True that Terry. Need to put down the paint brushes and chip some glass!

Re: Mosaic artists

I wonder if anyone here has any advice for hanging mosaic art on the wall? How do you attach hooks or some type of hanging device to the back of your substrate?

Thank you!
