9x 6.25 watercolor over wc pencil sketch on Lana 140 lb hot press paper done yesterday for the AMAE forum’s Weekend Drawing Event. Done in an hour 10 minutes.

January 9, 2020 at 10:57 am #869273What’s really impressive about this painting is how quick you did it! I like the vertical nature of this art, and how you have the vertical elements of the buildings, along with diagonal motion with the angles. I like how you preserved a lot of color in this painting, and how diverse it is. Looks like the weather is overcast, and the shading and color act accordingly to that, and I think that’s great because the contrast isn’t that high. Unless, was your intention making the weather sunny? If that’s the case, I would make the shadows darker and bolder, so that we have no doubt about what kind of weather it is.
