        Some more sketchbook work. My last name is Noel, so our family tends to love anything Christmas related, and I think this turned out looking like a weathered, fantasy-esque santa. Maybe from an old Nordic tale or something.

        the page its on is roughly 8.5×11, while the painting itself is about 6″x8″ish. Used a more indirect approach over 3 days.

            IIRC, I saw this painting on reddit. Didn’t think to check out the username. Those bright blue eyes … are they yours? They are beautiful.

                            Yep! I post quite a bit on reddit.

                            I actually do have very bright blue eyes, which is probably why I painted them brighter than in the reference I was working from. But the reference image did have blue eyes.
