#2 - no title yet

Taking a break from my son's portrait which is threatening to send me crazy! So taking it out on cups.
#2 - Not sure what to call it - loneliness, all alone, singing the blues.

There is quite a lot of red in the cup but it doesn't want to show in the photograph. A friend has this cup - very difficult to drink out of without spilling! The shadow needs some work to anchor the cup a bit. Maybe a little red?

Anita - yes this cup is for real! And no its not "the big one" - only 16x 16 ins. Have the big one standing by - think it is 5ft x 4ft - want to do a landscape for my living room - abstracted landscape.

Caroline - lol.

Trying to get update of this but it just doesn't want to have its photo taken.

Ooooooh, now we're talking! Very dramatic change...I like!

Just wondering about the base of the cup, to enable it to stand it would have to be sat straighter on the surface, right now it's a little cockeyed and would never be able to stand IRL....However..... that doesn't bother me, if it doesn't bother you.

It does look like its Singing the Blues! Reminds me of the table settings in Alice in Wonderland or Beauty and the Beast?

Hi KA! I like it...especially the blue....but I'm a "blue nut".. I think Nitsa is right though..... you might want to adjust the base just a wee bit to make it stand a bit better ...... but hey! ... I was once a leaning bluejacket myself...

Re: #2 - no title yet

Jim - you are right - it looks like it is going to fall over - somehow between sketch and canvas it drooped even more - am wondering a little if it is a fraction too cartoony and thay I ought to stand it back up again.

bjcpaints - as I said to Jim - was wondering if it is a little too cartoony, and you underlined that. My tutors at university said kitsch was fine if it was intentional, hmmmmmmmm, don't think it was my intention here.

Anita - its goingto fall over.........crash!!!!!!!!

Re: #2 - no title yet

Just the base!!!!!!!!
I like the fact that the cup is odd looking, I wouldn't adjust that....Just make the base possible to stand.
