Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi,

My name is Ken, although I sign my work 'Rusty Moss' for two reasons, 1) I do mostly rustic scenes of old buildings/barns and structures, and Rusty Moss sounds much more rustic. 2.) Rusty Moss is a lot shorter than my real name.

I've dabbled in art on and off for about 20 years, and recently have taken more interest in doing better quality of work, and I'm here to pic the brains of the masters.

I majored in drafting and design, so I have a strong grasp on line work and perspective; However, my work tends to fall apart once I have to draw nature. I've started drawing trees lately, and gotten pretty good at that, but ground and grass and such is my weakness, and mostly what I'm trying to master.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi, this is my first post on WetCanvas

I'm a college student studying biology, but I love art and have been doodling and drawing my whole life. I've recently gotten obsessed with colored pencils and have decided to start making finished paintings instead of just doodling on scrap paper. I hope to learn a lot from you guys here and I'm eager to share my stuff!

Intro

Hi there!

I'm Bonnie and after lurking for some time, decided to join up. I've been working in Prismacolors for over 15 years now, and have recently decided to start pushing to offer commissions for equine and pet portraits in my area. Anyway, glad to be here, looking forward to seeing everyone's works!

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

My very best regards to all the members of the coloured pencil section of WetCanvas, and once again (wrote my first post in the newbies section) many-many thanks for all the wonderful articles, tips, shared experiences, informative discussions, and simply the atmosphere of an art community that your forum gives anyone lucky enough to find it!

My name is Anastasia, and I live in the district of Thrace, located in the northern Greece. It’s a rather magical place, charming by the combination of its natural beauty and amazing closeness to the ancient history. One of the few setbacks is the remoteness of the area, which doesn’t allow easy access to the art-related activities/ materials/ chats. Well, truth be told, I’m afraid I also have a bit of an “overly doting mother” syndrome, so even if there were many such opportunities available, I am not sure I’d be able to participate too often at this point of my life.

Nevertheless, and in spite of not having too much of free time, I draw with coloured pencils with any chance that I receive, ever since I discovered this medium a year ago (not counting the kindergarten years here). I guess I am mostly self-taught, though I remember attending an art class for a year when I was a child. I enjoyed it a lot back then, and am now regretting that the circumstances prohibited me from doing another year. Because of the lack of any feedback in real life (well, in my dear husband’s mind I am the new age Rembrandt no less, but even he himself admits he’s a bit prejudiced), I will be welcoming any critique, remarks and comments. I would like to develop, improve (but above all enjoy!) my art for many-many years to come.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi everyone! I've been hiding in the watercolour section for the last week - this place is huge I've been a pencil artist for a longtime and started thinking about watercolours just recently in order to try and merge the two media.

I'm 27 and a hobby artist - I do surreal, fantastical, weird work. I am self-taught - my day job is a researcher (physics). I had a sort of hiatus in my art for 8 years and just kick started it again this year.

It's great to meet everyone and I hope I can show you some of my work

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi - Cherie Dawn here. I'm a hobby artist with a passion for art and artists themselves. I love creativity, expression, talent, and seeing people share these attributes.

My preferred medium is colored pencil, although I also use acrylic. I like the pencils because I can get detailed, and love to draw henna-like designs and images.

Last night I sat down and drew a Zentanglesque drawing with so much intention that I ignored all calls from my phone and even from people in the same room; I'll post here later.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi i have not been here in a very very long while and have missed Wetcanvas. I must say that the group here got me modatavated and moving back into doing art. I have been MIA due to health reasons. Of which are still ocuring but I want to move in my art. Now I do not have any memories of how to get started in that direction anymore or where to begin again. I love colour charts and need simple start up projects. Any suggestions on this area. thank you.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hello

I have been lurking for a long time but been to shy to post.

I´m a hobby artist and architecture student from Sweden who enjoys working with all kinds of mediums and subjects. I have a special love for nature, so I often draw landscapes, animals and plants. Recently I fell in love with colored pencils, and found myself returning here for information many times

Hello, aralon! Welcome to the forum! I'm guessing from your post that you've already discovered the CP Library. If you haven't yet, please stop by our Welcome Thread. (Link below).

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

My name is Linda and I live in Sun City Hilton Head and we have a very active art club here with over 300 members. I teach Introduction to Colored Pencil Painting to other retirees and love it. I do mostly florals and try to do work from photographs taken by members of our Photography Club who has many professional photographer members. I started working in colored pencil in 2012 and study every day, either reading the 10 plus colored pencil books I've bought, watching videos of colored pencil teachers such as Janie Gildow, working on my blending, layering, etc. I use mainly Caran d'Ache Pablo pencils although I also sometimes combine with Prismacolor or Polychromos. I try to spend at least 3 hours a day studying colored pencil painting.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Pitter, actually the government knows me by Elizabeth but they are the only ones who use that name for me.
I currently am a Colored Pencil and Acrylic Artist. When I am not an Artist I am a Wife, Mother, Gramma, Nurse, Birdwatcher, Nature Lover, Seamstress, avid Reader, Jack of all trades
I use Prismacolors and Polychromos mainly but Crayola Crayons are not ever ruled out depending on if the grandkids are here and want to play or not.
My art is mainly Nature based, I love birds and mammals mainly and they dominate my work.
I am happy to have found such a nurturing and talented forum to belong to
