When I try out new techniques, I first make small paintings with simple things, such as fruits.
These are 2 of those small paintings.

Solvent = Leaner Oil = Fatter Drawing is the basis of art. A bad painter cannot draw. But one who draws well can always paint. (Arshile Gorky)November 6, 2018 at 6:53 am #724093unbelievable. the quality of light is mesmerizing, it’s like a portrait of light not fruit.
bring a soft warm grey to the tablecloth under the pear and these’ll sell before weekend.C&C welcome

November 6, 2018 at 10:21 am #724064Just gorgeous Mark! One day, hope to be able to achieve that high degree of realism with my own attempts – and even go one step further with additional superfine detailing, e.g clearly painting those intricate patterns of veins found in leaves.
Impressive and inspiring.November 6, 2018 at 10:37 am #724057Excellent work.
Thank you for posting them.
I’d also like to know which technique you were trying.I only regret not drinking more champagne -

November 6, 2018 at 8:13 pm #724062Wonderful work Mark, everything I strive for you accomplish. Just fantastic.
(Currently have a painting with fruit in it myself, they’re stuck on about 85% finished while I work elsewhere, and this makes me want to get back to them immediately! )
November 6, 2018 at 9:28 pm #724071Please share the new technique! These are fabulous
