Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

Another update. Well, if Emma's nose was a problem, Bubba's eyes weren't much better. Again having problems with the bad photo. I think they're close though.

I'm just starting on the nose, yet another difficult feat to pull off. I did get better photos of Bubba, so I should be able to figure that out. The photos did help with the eyes also.

Emma's nose was definitely more difficult, the client couldn't supply better photos. Apparently, Emma is camera shy, I call her "her shyness" . For some reason, she doesn't like the camera. Bubba does, so I got photos, hopefully this will go smoother.

I wanted to start Bubba before I finished Emma, to sort of work them together from this point forward. I also have to start thinking about a background. The top of Bubba's head isn't finished yet, I'm probably going to have to soften those wrinkles a bit. Of course his whole face isn't near done yet.

Thanks for looking, C&C always appreciated.

Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

Chris.. wow great start on his face...you do eyes really well.
I agree that what you are thinking will round and pop things more. Strange that someone would pay all that money and not be able to send more digital photos to you that would help....maybe they can get her asleep.
It's going to pull together nicely!

Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

Thanks Ruthie. I really appreciate it as I'm struggling with the photo.

Thanks very much Betsy. I know, it seems that not only is Emma "photo challenged", the client is also "technology challenged". He was having trouble getting the photos emailed, though he finally sent me a few. Emma's was of no real help, and Bubba's was a bit of help. This client is so very nice, and thankfully he so far likes what I'm doing. I'll post another update as soon as I get his nose in.

This is looking great, Chris. Thanks for showing all the colors you are using. The colors help bring life to the painting. I will be checking for your updates.

Looking good Chris! These are a real challenge when you don't have good reference photos. You are pulling it all together - can't wait to see it done.

Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

Chris!!! you are rocking my world! If an owner could accept this as completed, I'd just leave it as is and see how they like the power of an unfinished piece. It's just got so much interest at this point and it's engaging.

Ok - now - get back to your easel and have some more play time with the dogs. Listen to "who let the dogs out" on your music source and have fun with those colors!

Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

Chris, thank you for posting this WIP. I have enjoyed every moment of it. Your colors are just amazing and add that pop that will make the finished painting spectacular. Keep going, the owners will love it, for sure.

Re: Emma and Bubba - WIP

You have a great start here - I know what you mean by bad photo's - at least these are taken at dogs level. I like the brown you have on the nose, most don't have the jet black nose.
