Re: 1955 Nomad WIP

Wow, that's wonderful, you make it look so easy, just beautiful work
About selling them, do you ever have local car shows where you live? Old cars, like these, there might be some interesting in buying one of your paintings or even commission one of their own car?

Re: 1955 Nomad WIP

Johnnie, I'm taking notes, this is just too great. Slow, yes but the results you are getting, oh my. I too like old cars and have quite a few pics awaiting their day. There's a car show here in two weeks, so will take camera and get more pics. I enjyed Dawn's tale of the 55 Willllys's Jeep, sorry I missed out on seeing that. I have two Jeeps I take off road. I have a painting or two in mind for them.
Johnnie, your cars are worthy of making giclee prints, bet they would sell like hotcakes at car shows.

Re: 1955 Nomad WIP

It always fascinates me to see an artist work from top to bottom, left to right, without even blocking in the colors. In your case, you are doing a bueatiful job of keeping the painting harmonized. This is beyond beautiful, Johnny, and while I sympathize with the "gruel-through" on a big painting, this one is well worth the effort.

Hi Johnnie,

What can I say ?
If perfection is 100% your painting is 98 % (I'll keep the 2% to make you keep improving :-) )

Regards,

José

Jose - Thanks! 2%??? that'll be tough! I'm flattered at 98, that's for sure!

James - thanks also - way back when, I did start this out as a WIP....

I remember the beginning demo Johnnie. Melodie, James, Johnnie has given the thread address in his above reply. I think you'll enjoy it.

The finished painting was well worth the wait. I'm amazed and impressed that you went back to it after to many months dorment. I almost never can do that - no discipline at all here! LOL

Good job.

Johnnie, I can merge the two threads together so that folks can see the WIP and the finished image altogether in one thread. Let me know via PM.
