Just getting back into posting here....but I have been watching this one. Just wonderful...watching those cherries emerge from the paper is amazing.

Re: Ornamental Cherries - Still Life WIP

Thank you Sandy.....they make me hungry I think I am way past hungry when pastel turns my crank.

Marina, I missed your question ...Hi I am not quite sure what combination of colours it will take to make the patterns above the jar but I will mix them on he paper like the grass they cut around them with the black pencil. I will rotate the painting to work my way around and avoid a mess.

Cheers, Dianna

Our weather was perfect...mid 70's during the day, crisp 50's at night. Even did a little watercolor painting pere and there.

Yes, the Ludwigs are unique in texture but he has some wonderful colors that are unique to his line as well. I have a very dark purple of his that is exceptional.

Those cherries of yours are making me drool!

Re: Ornamental Cherries - Still Life WIP

Olga....I visited your wonderful red, white and apple CP. Way to go girl. Now let's see something in pastel.

Maria.....you are a doll...

Aletta....your right about keeping it simple. Me, Myself and I are having quite a battle over how the background should progess. Me tried it one way...laying down and mixing design colours on the paper and that didn't work so Myself had a go at it and it ended up too bright so I'm thinking I will just take it all out, make it black and add the design after. She always gets her own way in the end so there's no use arguing anyway.

Cheers, Dianna

Re: Ornamental Cherries - Still Life WIP

Well all you guys that hung around....I think I'm finished. Just have to write up a few things and crop a few more before I post the grand finale and go on to the sit and sip stage.
