Yeah, you may want to subdue the light tones of the flowers and back bushes to make the kids stay the focal point but this is an awesome job!!! Did the masking come off easily??? Have to say it again...awesome!!!

thanks.....the mom LOVED the azaleas in the background, so, needless to say, they're stayin' lol.....as far as the masking...it peeled off almost all in one piece! I layered it on pretty thick so as not to have any bubble mishaps where a bubble pops and leaves a pinhole...it was like peeling off a beauty mask! Only had to deepen one place on his boot..everywhere else stayed perfect! came back and exacto'd some stray hairs in around the outside of their hair, and softened the lines that were masked...worked out very well! I won't be so afraid next time.

Yikes MONIQUE!!!

See what happens when you stay away for one day! I couldn't believe you were finished - it's magnificent.

Can't thank you enough for sharing this with us. I believe I have learned a lot from watching.

The parents must be thrilled. Congratulations on all your new commissions. It's not too difficult to know why - LOL.

Thanks again for sharing the process, the excitement, the anticipation and ultimately the beauty of your painting.

Sincerely,
Grace

Talking Re: Summer Day portrait commission WIP

a HUGE Thank you to those who rated my thread!!!!! How wonderful...I have a five star rating on this thread. I can't tell you how flattered I am about this. I always wondered if those ratings ever showed up, guess you have to have atleast five votes to get it. Anyhow, thanks soooo much to all for your support on this project. I'll be starting another one immediately. Meeting in the morning about size/poses of three boys, large format, watercolor, of course. Will post when I get started on it.
