Looks good! Interesting tension with the kids each facing a different direction, kind of makes you study each one well before going on to the other.

Re: Summer Day portrait commission WIP

Thanks to all!! The encouragement really means a lot to me! I didn't get to work on it tonight, but it is promised for within two weeks to the client. Next week is finishing week for me. My goal is to hit it hard and get it completed immediately. I have three young children and painting while they are home, non-school hours, is pretty challenging, to say the least! Lots of little built in critics, though...lol....always interesting...usually pretty encouraging, though! The client, my friend, a mom from school, asked my son in the library when she ran across him...how the painting was coming...he said to her that it looked great! He's nine....she was excited and told me I had one fan, for sure!

Here is the rest of her dress....his shorts next, then his boots, then arms and legs...don't ask me why the order, and may not even stick to the order! Just poking along....

Love the fabric texture and the drape of the dress. You make it look so easy, I know it's not!

OMG this is beautiful. I love the faces, her dress, everything!

Maybe I missed what medium this is (my suspicion is watercolor) but I am off to check out all your posts as I really admire your work on this. That's another wonderful thing about this site - always discovering another artist who you hadn't seen before.

I'll be back to watch and learn tho'.

Thanks so much! Yes, this is watercolor....you will find a duplicate of this thread in the watercolor gallery. I post dually when I work on a portrait. There are others I posted, past portraits, WIP that you can look at if you would like. I guess you can find them all through looking at threads I started. Let me know what you think...I'm always up for critiques...I am always striving to be better!

stunning as usual. That dress looks amazing. Would not mind a close up of that at some stage.
Keep going - I'm watching.

I absolutely hate the new restrictions on size, it made me have to make it alot smaller than it used to. I lose any detail!

sorry..

How do you do it?!

(I thought with the new system one could add large images, and make them appear as a thumbnail in the post. I'll see if I can figure it out)
