Scavenger Hunt #617 - Jan 08 - 16

Welcome to Hunt #617!!

For this hunt I'm reposting a list I made when I hosted hunt #408 in June 2015. Here's a link to that hunt.

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Joe and Jo - good to see you!

(with bonus cup and saucer redo for the previous hunt)

EP, what a great page of sketches. You went loopy with the ellipses, even on the cameras! Great. And, as usual, you made me smile.

I was sitting looking at the list and all of a sudden I realized I heard motors out back. The lawn service was here! It is cloudy and misty so didn't expect them.

Grabbed my Lamy pen and the small sketchbook and went for it. About a 5 minute sketch, like sketching a dog he just kept moving. Ha. Good wake up for me today....

Number 1, use this for yard work

EP - You definitely got some ellipses in that series of sketches. Nice work.

Jo - it is really great to watch others work and you captured that moment.

I dug out this cup and saucer for the last hunt but never got to it. Decided to use it for an ellipse sketch. Used a .5 mm HB pencil in 5x8 inch sketchbook.

Keep sketching
Joe

Jo - haha "like a dog" - how fun to watch another person work. Hope he wears hearing protection - those tools are loud

Joe - haha to your cup and saucer becoming ellipses

Hi, everyone. Thanks on my yardwork.

Thinking of Joan and Jerry.

Joe, lovely cup and saucer. Well done, hard to do, nice shading.

I wiped off a mountain and sketched on some MiTeintes paper, thus the grayish background and not much tooth left. Pastels.About 9 x 12 inches. About 20 minutes. My cloth looks like a shoe, sigh....
Number 2, 3,4 - use this to spray, wash and tidy up
