Both, I'm trying some different stitches, also trying to perfect those I know. And when nothing is working I just go with the flo.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

That's a nice variety of stitches. Your feather stitches look really good.

I found a couple of embroidery books at a library book sale. I couldn't believe they were only $1.

One is Marion Nichol's "Encyclopedia of Embroidery Stitches including Crewel". It's from 1974. The other is "Crewel Embroidery" by Erica Wilson (1962). It's really good too.

They're both in black and white but they have a lot of sort of forgotten stitches and good advice too if you ever see them anywhere.

Great find...My mother had that Erica Wilson book back when it was new. It's a good one and I wish I knew where it went.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

Week 5, late but done and next time I try weaving I think I need to use lighter colors, easier to see.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

Dark colors and poor lighting are a problem with fiber arts. Nice weaving.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

Helen, reading is good. I know you had a goal, but maybe modifying it would be good. The bottom part of this patch almost looks like some sort of code. Cool.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

One would think that I'd get more stitching done given this pandemic and no where to go; however, I have been doing other things so... this one took 3 weeks to finish...

I have no clue why the image is sideways, it's right side up on my laptop.

And here is week 10. The stitching is difficult to see but it's there...

Re: my weekly stitched patches

Those are nice.
I think everyone is emotionally fried. All I am doing is garter stitch knitting.

Re: my weekly stitched patches

Love the sun and moon patch. Embroidery takes time. A lot of time. Enjoy the process. As Lena said we're all a bit fried. I know I am.
