Like the apple, but love what you are doing on the puppy. I'm looking forward to seeing your next post.

Re: Sketchbook Thread

Thank you! I am always afraid I will ruin the drawing before I am done. The apple isn't really about the apple, it's about the luminance colored pencil at the top. The top pencil is drawn on the paper, the other 2 pencils are real pencils. Giggle images of anamorphic artists, I am amazed at what they can do. (I don't google anymore, I am afraid they are taking over the world)

Re: Sketchbook Thread

Claudia, the bird is wonderful. I really need to try a bird. House wren has been on my list for awhile.
Linda, you are doing very well with colored pencil. The wrinkles and sad eyes on the bulldog are wonderful!

Re: Sketchbook Thread

Your work is wonderfully accomplished Linda. Very inspiring!

Elaine - I can definitely recommend trying a bird - I find them very enjoyable to draw. A wren is on my list too (but my list is about 10 feet long so not sure when I'll get to that.... )

Re: Sketchbook Thread

Your sketch books are great.

But I must say I love Kay's bird, and Linda's puppy is a delight.

The wagtail is excellent.

I love the bull pup. Look forward to seeing him finished.

Re: Sketchbook Thread

interesting variety

one of mine from a recent trip to Wales - the mountains across the estuary were lost in haze and clouds

watercolour and then lots of cp on sanded paper (UArt 400), plein air sketch. Because I mostly used this 11inch hardback sketchbook, I pasted it in to keep it witht he other sketches done there

It fascinated me that because the tide rose from both ends of the strait, the ripples in the sand were at right angles to the water instead of the usual parallel-ish

Really great sketch - love the colours and the sense of distance. Just had a look at your website too - your work is beautiful.

vhere: Wonderful work. You really captured the essence of the scenery. I like the hint of peach in the distance.
