Re: What are you Working on Today?

Someone walked away from their home picture frame and mat shop and I was given a couple of hundred matboards of various colors and sizes that needed sorting. I have finished the sorting and I just happen to have an old Logan mat cutter, so I’m doing the YouTube refreshers on “how to properly cut picture frame matts.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

I'm back! I made it, and totally enjoyed it. Arty, thanks for your support and suggestions. I didn't have time to get a photo, but earlier I watched a youtube for beginners, and still had enough of that in my head, so did that. It came out pretty well!
This time there were 2 other people, minus one from last week who is on vacation.
The knowledgeable woman had about finished her piece, a saguaro cactus on a rocky ledge. Was quite nice.
She asked for critiques, and I suggested a dark line on the body and arms to indicate shadow, help with roundness. This is a woman who has been painting a long time, but she did it, and thought it made a big improvement, she was pleased. So I was pleased. Some one else suggested adjustments on a couple of rocks, she was working on those when I left.
I may pull out some photos before next week.
Now I may work on an oil painting I started a while ago and put aside to dry.
