WDEMay8: 1) Still Life and 2) Cat at post # 6

Great images this week! I'm late to the party because I wanted to save this for my painting class today. My instructor wanted to show us how to use an eye dropper for painting so I chose to do the still life. Took me about 2 hours and still a few things I want to do to finish it. It's about 11x7, US Paper 140lb CP, W&N paints. It was fun to do.

Re: WDEMay8 MI -- Still Life and Orange Cat

Another try with the eye-dropper -- W&N watercolor paints and US Paper -- about 7x5. Took me about 1 1/2 hours.

Re: WDEMay8 Still Life

Both are great but I especially like the first. Interesting technique to use an eye dropper. Reminds me a little of pouring but much less mess!

Caught kitty on another post, so this comment is for the fruit only. What a beautiful luminosity in the fruit- like they are lit from within ! The colours just sing together ! Love it !

I like them both. The still life is very vivid. I am wondering what you do with the eye dropper?

I mixed four colors with water in four separate containers, wet the area I wanted to paint, then dropped the paints onto the wet area. I did everything but the leaves and finishing touches on the grapes and oranges with the dropper.
