Re: Round the Campfire ~May~

Larry, those pictures are heart breaking. Thank you and your wife for giving the help you have. One thing I do know for a fact, the people of Oklahoma are, for the most part, a tough bunch of good hearted people. They WILL be back and better than before.

Re: Round the Campfire ~May~

Hey all..
Wow, what a day.
Jenna, i can only imagine the anxiety of the farmers needing to plant, and cant. it has been such a weird weather spring.
Larry, what a mess there. So wo derful that you are giving the time and energy there. Im glad the folks are getting your help.

We have another fire. This one is very close. We were hiking near santa fe today, and just finishing our hike saw the smoke. Once you have experienced a wildland fire, you know what that plume means. We rushed home, called neighbors as we drove and found out it is only a couple miles from us. Friends have been evacuated. Intook this photo from the moving car, as we were not stopping, trying to get home fast. We live basically right at the bottom of the plume.
We are okay for now, but. Our phones are all dead, so we cant get the reverse 911 call t evacuate.... Winds have slowed ( good) but have shifted to,the SSE (bad, as that aims our direction). We are packed to leave

Re: Round the Campfire ~May~

Just to clarify...I wasn't trying to imply anything by the mention of a Jitterbug phone...just said that b/c it's the cheapest phone out there
