Re: Sketchbook Thread

Lovely supracolor sketches Robert - thanks for posting them, and yes - here's the perfect place! I really love the spontaneous feel and vibrant colour of your purple flowers. Watersolubles are great for quicker, more relaxed pencil work, aren't they? Less hassle than watercolour paints but you still get that immediacy.

I wish more people would post their quicker, more spontaneous sketches, studies and experiments here. I love seeing that kind of thing for a change - coloured pencils aren't just about those heavily layered realist pieces that take a million hours!

Re: Sketchbook Thread

All of these are lovely, I really like the apples and the berries too! And I love your little quick sketches as well, Robert. It takes me forever to do finished pieces, so lately I find myself trying to do quick (well, under an hour or two, lol-is that still considered "quick"?) sketches in a sketchbook, just to keep from getting rusty or out of the habit.

I love to see these, too, it's very inspiring to see what everyone's up to!
