My mom took a nasty fall and ended up in hospital for a long stay. Instead of sending flowers, that she will just watch wild by the bedside, I painted her this sunflower to help lift her spirits. 8X10 acrylic on wood panel.

        C & C is A-OK!

Beautiful work for your Mom. I’m sure she’ll be proudly showing it to all the nurses and doctors. Very well done.

Lovely sunflower, I hope her spirits rose and has a ‘proud mum moment’ when she looks at the sunflower.

                            Beautiful gesture.

Such a thoughtful and cheerful way to send positive vibes her way; hope she heals well and does fine.

Sorry to hear about your Mom’s fall. Your sunflower could lift anyone’s spirits. Nicely done.

What a lovely thing to do. Thanks for sharing this to us!

It reminds me about the colour yellow in rose symbolism: They give a message of appreciation and love without the romantic notion of red roses. These flowers are a good bunch to give to your friends and family for well-wishers of health and speedy recovery, or to simply show your appreciation. I read this very detailed article on the history of the colour yellow, and how we can use it in practical ways in our art-making. That’s where I learned this fun fact from!
