I love all the little tiny fuzzy hairs sticking out of his ears and his nose. You handled that perfectly. It gives him such a soft, realistic feeling.

Re: Ploughing Champ

Thanks guys for all your encouraging comments on this, I did just a little over the weekend...here is a mini update and a close up too for you Bonnie - although it is a close up of my least favourite part - that strap holder...I did the second one below it which didnt turn out much better . I may try and fix it up but I havent gotten my hands on any ink yet! I am really having fun with this and just loving this wonderful forum!

Re: Ploughing Champ

Thank you BethAnne! I am having alot of fun with this, and learning heaps as I go along!
Here is what I have worked on tonight...This was wonderfully therapeutic after a rather crazy day at work!
I find the leather much more difficult than the fur...I need to practice more non-furry inanimate objects...problem is is that I have lots of furry references I would love to scratch!!
Anyway here is an update of where I am at now, again I need to pick up some ink soon to deepen a few shadows...and hopefully make the noseband 'pop' a little more.
Hope you enjoy and any C&C appreciated

Re: Ploughing Champ

Lorna and Pamela Thank you!
I am delighted to have you both still along for my journey!
I must admit I have been throwing myself in the deep end with the tack,I am finding it difficult to portray it all accurately,in some parts I have just wanted to create the impression...of a certain material..ie rope halter, leather and steel in the image - although any little mark I make that goes awry seems to take the image in a new direction...the photo is becoming less and less important to me, its now a guide to me more than a photo realistic image that I need to recreate! The image is starting to become my own! I hope that rant makes sense

After awhile I tend to forget my photo too (could be my downfall at times...LOL), however you are doing a fabulous job on this piece!!!

Re: Ploughing Champ

Thank you Sue and Bonnie!!
Bonnie, no I wont add colour to this as I have never used colour before and black and white is proving to be enough of a challenge right now! I just got some black ink today and I already afraid to use it LOL I do hope to try colour soon with something else, but colour isn't one of my strengths!!
