a lovely painting, I like the concept and composition, colours and execution... there have been some some very constructive comments here too... the dark background is a bit of a puzzle, probably unresolved at the moment

Its a terrific painting already. I don't even think the length of the forward arm is the issue. I think that it does not seem to attach fully to the body at the shoulder. In other words, rather than looking like it is emerging from her torso, it seems, at the shoulder, to hover in front of the torso and fabric of her blouse. She is clearly a very slender girl and to my eye, its a matter of making that arm appear securely attached to her body. But really, its awfully darn good and the water is terrific. Rob
