Ooh! I think I've got a new favorite with this one! Look at those brilliant brush strokes for the grasses and shrubbery in the foreground. All those colors are so vibrant, and yet they feel organic. Wonderful!

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Thanks Jenna appreciated. I paint fast & for the grasses, I used real staccato type strokes ( holding the brush with the bristles downward and pulled them straight upward in a very quick jerking motion. Appreciate your comments!

Taos NM Moonglow 18x24 palette knife and big brush. Done on 225lb heavy linen paper. Consider the fact that NM on average has 300 days of sunshine per year which leads to beautiful clear skies at night - "moon glow is a given!

Desert Foothills - 18x24 heavyweight linen paper with palette knife and big brush. Foothills are so calming and peaceful. While painting them it is almost like a session of meditation!

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

I'm just loving these new ideas you're always coming up with. There's something even more advanced in your last several posts. The colors seem to melt together a bit, creating so many hues between them. I love them all!

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Thanks Jenna - I'm changing up my style a bit, along with a bit of an update to my palette - I'm also doing more big brush work and less palette knife.

Beautiful painting! I love those colors...the darker tones make the reds and blues feel just about electric. Indeed, you sure captured that glow. Super painting!
