Re: And the next sketch is ......

KreativeK: Thanks. Love the almost pop art look, but with the glory of maybe, possibly - even hopefully - coming away with a little paint finding it's way under the fingernails. I'm enjoying the capture of colour on the neck of the pigeon. Where I'm situated, I put out plenty of bird feed and table scraps. The local wood pigeons that come visit are big, and fat, and make the common (?) pigeons I see in town look practically diseased. Yet the town pigeons never seem to look roughly a 3rd of a mile to discover my treats: It seems they are hooked on discarded fast food pickings and... sick. Yes, they feed on vomit from weekend idiots. Sorry, not the best of images, but mildly interesting to observe this phenomenon.

No? No. Sorry.

Orange: An old sketchgroup topic, "Cybercat", from 2006. I would tackle the subject a little differently now, but this one is a little more tame. So many choices for "orange", but I thought it would be fun to keep the cat vibe going for Vhere. Apologies for the pretentious white frame. I was in a phase?

Next: Reclaimed by nature...

Thanks for the kind words.

KreativeK: Just gorgeous. Love the blend of colours and the subject in general.

Re: And the next sketch is ......

Wow at the texture you got on that one, Vivien, it is mindblowing

An experiment:

7.5x5.75 alcohol inks on gessoed matboard, another experiment with inks on a different support. First I dribbled a line of rubbing alcohol 50% vertically for the stem then put lime green ink at tip of chopstick to control the flow. Next I "drew" left side of poppy petals with spray mister stem, taken out of its bottle, dipping back and forth to provide a path for the inks. Using Sangria, Magenta, and Santa Fe reds along with small amount of Sunbright yellow I dotted the inside of the flower. Also used a plastic dropper to put in tiny amounts of alcohol here and there. The inks dry very fast so lastly I used sapphire blue, a dark hue, for the poppy centre.

Next is one that was a happy accident for you (a disaster that turned out great)
