Barnes Forke Creek-my 1st oil painting

Hi, This is my 1st actual painting in oil since highschool, 30 years ago. I don't have any art training. I am learning and re-learning as I go along. I like any feedback to help me. I put a drawing on the drawing forum too. I know I am not very good, but maybe I could learn. Thank you so much.

Very nice for your first painting. Keep on working and posting. You will get great comments and hints from the many "pros" here on WC.

I think this is lovely! You have a lot of talent! I am new to painting in oils too, and to painting at all, and this place is great!

Nice job, especially on the water and the forms of the trees. I would recommend some darker areas in the foliage behind the tree trunks on the right side, and lightening up the trees in the very back; objects lose contrast and chroma the farther away they are.
