X Post Watercolor: Poinsettia Patterns

22x15 on 140 lb CP paper, DV/DS paints. I applied torn masking tape to dry paper then splashed and poured on paint, let dry, then carved out leaves with my brush. Negative painting done as well for a loose happy holiday feel. Drips were encouraged.
C&C welcome

Kay; this is just beautiful, as all your work is! I love your fresh, loose style.

Re: X Post Watercolor: Poinsettia Patterns

I am curious as to where the torn masking tape was applied. It is a lovely painting BTW.

Re: X Post Watercolor: Poinsettia Patterns

Thanks Viv and Carol. I put the masking tape at the center and top white poinsettia leaves. You can see the hard edges I neglected to soften.
