Mother Snapper

I was soooo lucky today when I went for my morning walk through the park near our house. I spotted a Snapping turtle laying eggs. Not only did I get photos of her, I also took video of the eggs being layed. I was beyond excited. I felt like yelling, "breathe, breathe".

Lorell,
Great capture! I love the first shot especially. It looks like she is cast from stone. Nice and sharp too.

Re: Mother Snapper

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I would love to have an opportunity to watch, and of course photograph a turtle laying eggs. I can totally relate to that feeling beyond excitement. For me, new experiences in the wilderness provide a feeling that is like no other.

Now, if only you could capture the hatching of the eggs.

Re: Mother Snapper

How long will she sit on the eggs? (just kidding, I know turtles lay them, usually bury them, and go on their merry way.....how easy for momma, eh? ) Great captures....she does look like a stone turtle......
