The Wizard's Tower (xpost acrylic)

This is my 1st completed painting of 2020, acrylic on canvas A2 42x59.4cm

I'm a big fan of Tolkien and Dungeons & Dragons ... and I've been planning this painting for a while.
The Wizard is being attacked by a red Dragon. His Tower is perched on an impossible mountain with a thin winding road that leads back down to the river, while 2 soldiers watch the battle from the shadows

c&c welcome

Welcome and what a wonderful artwork to being in the new year!
I love so many things about this, the style and colors are great.
I really think the little halos of light are lovely and add such a soft glow.

Thanks for the comments :-)

The light halos were created by just swirling a light yellow wash around the lights once the under painting had dried (with a medium sized flat headed brush). I had to go over it a couple of times as I made the wash too thin.
