Arrow February Plant Parade

Here's your February Plant Parade Challenge and I'm your Host for this month and the Topic is;

"White Flowers"

We had "Black Flowers" for our Plant Parade Theme last month in January so this month we are going to concentrate on painting/drawing WHITE FLOWERS. There is a multitude of colors in the shadows and tones of WHITE FLOWERS and when we look at WHITE FLOWERS they often have very little of the color white in them, (only enough of the colour "white" to read as white) - so this should be an interesting Challenge and I hope you enjoy it.

You can use any painting/drawing medium and post as many entries as you want too, but please don't post your efforts until "Reveal Day" which is the 25th of February 2020. But you can discuss anything about the subject and ask any questions on this Thread before then...but no posting results until 25TH FEBRUARY 2020.

All the photos here are from my own gardens (at our farm before we moved to the city) except the first which is from the RIL. You can use any of them OR your own images as ref photos.

Orchid by catjoe on the RIL

White Dahlia "River Road"

Japanese Anemones or Windflowers

White Peony Rose

Christmas Lily

White Roses

White Gazania

White Freesias

For those that haven't seen it the January Plant Parade Challenge was Hosted by KreativeK and was "Black/Dark" Flowers - the link to the Gallery of entries is here; http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...1475140&page=5

Re: February Plant Parade

Kay and Zelda - well done!
I'm ashamed to say I haven't started mine yet! I've just finished my Animal & Wildlife Challenge painting, which has taken quite some time.... SO....hope to get on to my "White Flowers" painting tomorrow!

Re: February Plant Parade

I'm about half way through but there is still plenty of time left Vivien.
White flowers are quite tricky, very delicate, a wirthy challenge though.

Re: February Plant Parade

Shane, that is really beautiful! Very fresh looking.

This is only the second flower I have painted in decades, as I have such problems with getting a delicate look to the petals. It is a WC on Arches 140CP, 6 x 7 inches. It is a water lily from my own ref file. C & C welcome.

I do have another painting that I did many years ago in a workshop, but I did not know if that would be permissible to post, as I did not paint it this month.
