Thanks for hosting Kay. That black orchid is just amazing. Should be able to contribute this month and can't wait to start.

You're welcome Shane. Yes, there are violet and blue tones in those darkest darks not to mention pinks. My faves. Today I'm starting mine and it is quite large.

Ohhhhhh, difficult! But yes I'll give it a try! I know you could do it beautifully in watercolor but have severe doubts about me!

Thanks! Hope you all find a way to create some lovelies. Yesterday I did a trial test run on the hollies so will post it separately.

Re: January 2020 ~ Plant Parade Challenge

I've got so far behind with everything this month. It's the middle of Summer here in New Zealand, and the height of the growing season, so I've been growing some vegetables. Lawrence always had a wonderful vege garden all our married life and I always took care of our large flower gardens. So I thought I'd have a try at growing some tomatoes, broccoli, lettuces, radishes, spinach etc this Summer. They look ok so far and I'm learning how to grow vegetables - very interesting and I enjoy the satisfaction of harvesting them and cooking them!

I've only got my painting sketched out so far, but hope to get on to it in the next day or so.

Re: January 2020 ~ Plant Parade Challenge

My large hollies are sketched but that's as far as I got. We won't be home till Sunday so may have to be just late or do a smaller one.

Gorgeous, exciting, and just beautiful Shane! This dark purplish-black worked well as your palette to introduce dramatic values. You outdid yourself.
