Thank you everybody.

Joan T, lovely watercolors, and lots of them . Keep them coming.

Jo, nice necklace and great pumpkins. Happy to see them, are they watercolors too?

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it!

We go to our cabin town, called Suenphueng-Rajburi, but this time we stay at a nice bonsai village for a change. This resort has plenty of bonsais and also had its border with natural mountain stream. I got to do a quick direct watercolor sketch today. Hope to draw some bonsais tomorrow.

#1 nature scene -- LumPhaShii mountain stream, Rajburi, Thailand

#2 moving water

#3 rocks

Ai, thank you. Beautiful landscape and nice bottle with good ellipses. Interesting design of the bottle, I guess it is made of glass and the ring is to open it. It always bothers me that the caps on glass bottles are not reusable while the ones on plastic bottles are (at least here in Spain).

2- container (empty jar of goat's milk yogurt, it was delicious ) - Challenge: unusual media - Alpino Carbonil pencil, some kind of hard charcoal or carbon pencil.
Alpino is a local brand and it's quite cheap , it mainly produces school grade art materials.
Size is 62x67mm or 2.4x2.6 inches.

Joan, beautiful fall colors, we have none. I think it gets cold too late or doesn't stay cold long enough. We've had beauty 3 or 4 times in all our years here. There will be spots but not all together. I like the truck scene with the red building, too. Grape vines make me thirsty. .....

Ai, beautiful on the bonsai village. Love the water and rocks. The still water bottle is cool.

individuo, love the goat milk jar. Well done with charcoal, I make such a mess with that.

My niece, Mary, is here so we sketched today. I'll see if I can put her sketch up. Out on the porch after she took a walk, my knee won't allow that. Beautiful day.
Number 4 outdoor
Number 5 tree

Out on the porch on my iPad with Brushes, Apple Pencil and fingers. Fingers are more accurate for me than the pencil as there is a tiny delay with the blue tooth.

Number 6 item from nature

Jo - well done on the red hot rod Yay for flexible fabric bandaids. How cool you have the necklace from South America ... how did it manage to survive the fire? Oooh spatters on the pumpkins!! The nature sketch on your ipad with the blue background is so cheerful

Joe - oooh the "red" candle is so well done in graphite.

individuo - stunning shapes on your water glass! That yogurt comes in a transparent container? Cool!

Joan - ah those lovely fall colours from your neck of the woods. There was a turkey modelling for you? It missed Canadian thanksgiving so it must not be Canadian Love your red truck/red barn/deer crossing scene. The vineyards below almost look like ladies dancing in a line!

Ai - you live in such a beautiful part of the world! And your sketches of the places are so yummy!

Here's my contribution:

graphite, ink, and coloured pencil

1. a thing that helps you go from point A to point B

Cheers,

Joan: Thanks. Wowza on the truck country view, the vineyard.

Individuo: Thanks... Lovely bottle

EP: I am smiling with your moving device... well done.

Jo: Thanks for so many kind words both here and on FB of my pastel. Cool tree sketch.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #608: Oct 28 - Nov 5, 2019

#5 foreign object/culture -- a Bonsai, done at Bonsai Village Resort, with pastel encouragement from Jo and Joan. I still have lots to learn but I enjoyed painting this one as the place and the nearby garden crew were so nice. They helped taking my photos.

#8 a container -- a giant container plant pot of a giant Bonsai ( the tree was taller than Tone)

#6 a place -- a mountain stream on one border of Bonsai Village, also done with soft pastel ... I still have lots to learn in Pastel. Jo just does it with ease.

#7 bright or multi colors -- -- flowers at front of The Japanese house at Bonsai Village, done with soft pastel

Re: Scavenger Hunt #608: Oct 28 - Nov 5, 2019

Thanks everybody.

Joan T, another wonderful set of watercolors! Love them!

Jo, great ink scenes! Wonderful tree in digital, looks like pastels!

EP, very well chosen mean of transport, and very well done. The yogurt comes in a reusable glass jar, I plan to use it as an ink container, it was a suggestion of my favorite art supplies store's clerk/owner.

Ai, wow! Love those pastels! Keep at it.

3- snack (grapes) - watercolor pencils (another unusual medium for me, a new one in fact). About 10x5 cm or 4x2 inches.
