Munin - Ah, love the food sketches .. don't you love to eat your models? Jalepeños, mmmmm. Great hatching, egg cartons are so hard.

Hi Ai and Joe and all the rest.

I sketched in the big book as usual, with a Micron 02. I'm finally a small bit over halfway in the book. Forever ......it seems.

#5 comes in a bag - the bag! with sketching supplies
#6 comes in a bottle - liquid gloves
#7 comes in a tube - paint
#8 comes in a jar - Art Spectrum sanded surface for pastels, you can brush it on paper like jesso to give a sanded surface. It comes in colors. You can also repair a piece of Colourfix sanded paper if you damage the surface. I haven't used this in years, so imagine it is all dried up!

Thanks everyone.

Jo, great window and wonderful bag with the jar, tube and bottle. Jalapeños, with ñ!, your Spanish is coming back.

Joe, great tube in pastels, I have never used them, but I can imagine those little details must have been hard to do. Great job. Keep playing.

Munin Raven, . Your ink sketch looks like,...,victory.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #605 - Oct 4 - Oct 12

Sorry I was AWOL a few days. Was off visiting non-sketching friends and I was too busy catching up to get any sketching done or look at the posts.

12 - sphere shaped (pumpkin) - ink
13 - view into the fridge - ink
I did stop on the way to my friend's house at the Chuang Yen Monastery which has the largest indoor statue of a Buddha in the Western Hemisphere. I'm taking their word for it. This was an Inktober sketch.
14 - eyes - ink

Joan, I love the Bob Ross Santa/snowman. So fun. Love the lines in the fridge. What a Buddha, interesting.

My Inktober was from a photo, hope to sketch for here soon. New Hunt up tonight.

Jo - love the hatch shading on the art items! Nicely done. The Bob Ross comment on Joan’s pumpkin cracked me up.

Joan - Cool pumpkin man. Definite Bob Ross look to it. Nice line work on fridge. I am not allowed to keep door open that long. Beautiful Buddha.

No hunt sketches today. Spent today doing my pastel interpretation of Van Gogh’s “Cornfields and Cypress Trees”. A lesson in Jackie Simmond’s Pastel Workbook.

Keep sketching
Joe

Jo, thanks. For some reason Bob Ross has been very big lately. They had a big showing of his work recently, and a friend's art group did a Bob Ross themed show and she was making Bob Ross cookies for the reception. lol Love the shading on your bag filled with sketching supplies.

Joe, lol every time I keep the fridge open for a sketch I think about what my father would be saying..."You're letting all the cold air out. Close the door! Nothing inside has changed while you're watching it." Please show us your pastel Van Gogh interpretation.

Joan: I am heading out of town a few days with the kids. I may get to do some sketching but not sure if I can post on the road. Anyway, I will be a lurking in the next free days as I will not have a computer with me. If I don't get to post more then, thanks so much for hosting. Everyone sketch is inspiring.

Joe, Thanks. Yes show us the Van Gogh's painting. Hope you are having fun with pastels. Maybe I'll unpack mine today.

Joan, Thank you. Bob Ross has always been dear to my heart. I had hours taped for the VCR and would watch them to fall asleep with his nice soft voice. :-) The almonds make me hungry. Nice lines on the box. And appropriate to do the ink in ink. Ha.

Thanks for this Hunt. Didn't do as many as I planned. Sigh....

New Hunt is here:

Re: Scavenger Hunt #605 - Oct 4 - Oct 12

I know this is off topic, but Joan and jo asked to see it. Hard to believe 16-17 years ago this was my go to media. Saving this to look back on someday with hope of seeing lots of improvement.

I like the trees and fields. The sky I blended too much and did not capture the look and feel I was trying to match.

For reference..

Any and all comments happily welcomed.
Joe

Joan T, greatly done on the fridge, the Buddha, and the fun Bob Ross. Well done on the box, the almonds and the bottle of ink. And thank you very much for hosting, it was fun.

Joe, Wow, wonderful Van Gogh's.

EP, non dominant hand!! amazing! Even one of them looks surprised at how well it turned out.

See you all in the next one.
