Re: INKTOBER - for those who would like to share their work!

It's great to see these responses to Inktober ... and, qement, to read of your personal aims.
Drawing freehand and without a guide is challenging, but very rewarding when you realise you are getting angles and proportions etc right!.... and that's quite apart from infusing the work with emotion! Welcome to the forum ..... and there are other challenges to help you too, right here in the stuck threads!!!

Tanya, great, evil, toadstools ..... magic mushrooms!

Ron ..... help!!...... really good form and texture!

Ron, nice work...even though ewwww. LOL actually we have 2 resident snakes and we’ve named them, though they are not poisonous.

Maureen, I was literally falling asleep while doing that one! Amazing there aren’t stray lines.

Re: INKTOBER - for those who would like to share their work!

Everyone’s work is so great!

Here is my tranquility, which isn’t so tranquil - I think a smaller pen at first would have served well.
Tombow calligraphy pen + Pitt 005 in a SB Beta series sketchbook.

Nifty waterlilies Kay!

Good work, Logan! How do you like the Beta sketchbook for ink? I'm using the Epsilon which is what is usually recommended for ink. Do the ink lines feather out a little on the Beta pages?

Re: INKTOBER - for those who would like to share their work!

After spending four hours shading El Capitán Alatriste (a pop fiction historical soldier) with at least two hours to go, I went and met other obligations.

So I also spent half an hour on a sketch of Alonso de Etrerrías, the historical soldier character on El Ministerio del Tiempo whose running joke is that people keep thinking he's roleplaying Alatriste. My apologies for not cropping these properly, I'm falling over.

And to think, I did Alatriste today because I didn't feel ready to bite off Las Meninas. I hope to finish the shading on Alatriste on a later day when I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. Hahahahah. Ha.

Alatriste ref, Alonso ref

(C&C Welcome, I look forward to figuring out how I keep accidentally making faces half-width so I already know that one.)

I haven’t noticed feathering, I’ll peer at it and see if the Tombow feathered. The pages are a bit rough for inking, and they’re not... comfortable drawing with the smaller pen. Maybe it’s picking up some fiber? I’m not sure.

The paper reminds me of Canson mixed media, with a slightly smoother surface.

Frankly I used this one because there’s a guest starting my studio, and the Beta was out where I could get it!

Re: INKTOBER - for those who would like to share their work!

Bonnie, Tom, Michael, Kay, Logan - great work.

Here's mine from yesterday.

I forgot to say I'm using an S & B Alpha 8 x 5.5 ins notebook and Uni-Pin 0.1, 0.2 pens

Can we keep this going to 31st?

Yes Ron, the thread will stay open the whole month.
Great drawings here today, good responses to the themes as well as some very nice pen strokes!
