I still have family in the UK but I hate going back, nice to see them though but I'm always glad to get back here and it always makes me appreciate it more.

I visited Perth when I was travelling with my daughter, it is a great place, all of Australia is. I firmly believe that if people knew what the place was like everyone would want to live there.

It is now nearly seven years since I have been back to the UK. I think I might have to go next year though.

Sunface..I would like to go to Russia too, I can't imagine what it is like.

Maria, I lived in Okinawa as a Marine Corps wife for several months right after nursing school graduation; rained every day. BUT I learned to make fried rice the correct way, weave baskets, drive on left side of the road, and make ceramics from scratch. Tokyo was awesome! Now isn't a good time to go esp. if the NoKo leader bombs Japan or Guam first.

Hey gang, just popping in to say thank you to everyone that provided feedback on Ontogenesis. It was because of the good feedback I got that I entered it into the ISEA competition where it was accepted last month. And as of yesterday I got news that it won a Merit Award once the show was hung. Looking forward to visiting Florida and seeing the exhibition even more now. Thanks!

Wow Rick terrific news.
I've been wanting to visit Japan for a few years now.
I've had quite a few students from Japan over the years (I teach English)and
last year one of them decided that she wanted to promote my art.She set up a Japanese website and got me into a small mixed exhibition - it was fun.

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

Today starts a 4 day workshop w/ Bob Burridge, noted California artist. So stay tuned. His yesterday acrylic demo of a simple pear was fantastic; an upbeat contemporary design.

He said it is like 4 years of art school crammed into 4 days. Only two 5 minute breaks yesterday. His color wheel he invented is very different.
