Those birds are only missing hats to look like cartoon characters. They also look like they are casually discussing something mortifying!

Kay were you safely out of the way or right in the thick of it when Harvey hit? Hope all is well!

Thanks for the comments on my "cool shades video" everyone!

I am anxiously watching Irma as she bears down on the location of the exhibition into which Ontogenesis got successfully juried last month. Next week I need to ship it there, so I hope that the storm peters out a bit to ensure there is a gallery to receive the shipment. And my wife and I now have beachfront accommodation booked in late October, so hopefully the resort will suffer little or no damage. Can't imagine how horrible it is to evacuate and then wonder what will happen to your home!

Sunface, when I am working with new pigments I love using the Golden Artist Colors virtual paint mixer:
https://www.goldenpaints.com/mixer?p...er=20&t3_per=0

It is really helpful to figure out which colours can and can't be approached with a pigment. But you can also bring up the colour you have and then choose a cooler colour and see what they recommend for mixing it.

Cheers!

Wow you have moved around some!

I was in Dubai in the Middle East (I'm English) before I came to Costa Rica which was perfect for me work wise in that I sold a lot of artwork, whereas in Costa Rica it is a different story and quite hard, I've almost given up LOL!!

Hey that really cool!! thanks for sharing that.

Hurricane Irma...I have been watching the news and it is scary when you think of all those people sat waiting and wondering what will happen to their homes..we have had a lot of rain in Costa Rica, I could hear it loudly last night, which is okay, at least we aren't in danger which is a relief. I wonder how Cuba is doing?

Yes, so many friends live there, and we were to go next week to Indian Rocks Beach south of Tampa for a week long artist retreat. BUT I canceled a couple months ago, just had a bad feeling, and lost my deposit. Now I'm glad did not pay the amount in full expecting to go then having to lose it all...well over 2K.

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

whoa, Kreative K, good you listen to your inner self! My family is all ok, thank you all! Some repairs, not easy, but not as bad as they expected.

They did find an alligator walking on the street of the neighborhood!

That link was so good, I learned to mute the turquoise with Prussian blue. And I really like the effect. Have not have much time to work on it though.

Too scary with an alligator walking around like a human in search of trouble. Now I think there's another one coming that is worse?

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

I'm struggling with my Spanish class

I was doing great, but then I got sick and missed a lot of classes and so my instructor has put me in with a new different group, and although they are nice enough it's not the same, getting to know them all feels like hard work., and of course they are all chummy and so I feel out of it. I'ts a large group of 7, whereas my old class was only 4 and I kinda miss them.

On top of this my enthusiasm has dissipated

I keep thinking of good excuses to avoid going tomorrow and yet I know I have paid a lot already and need to go really..

Any ideas on how to change my thought process to the positive?

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

I forget to say that they are all a month behind me which means I am covering work that I have already done!!! I guess I'm a bit bored with it as well. Part of me knows that it's not a bad thing to go over work already covered.

I have to wear a mask when I attend these classes cos I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, (the sort of mask your dentist wears) so I feel the odd one out to start with, I don't think that really helps me as people can only see my eyes, but I have to wear it.

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

Sorry you have to wear a mask! If it were me, I'd seize this as an opportunity to tell others about my art. Even pass out business cards if you have any. Most will talk about art and all want it.

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

Yeah, thanks, Kay, I could do that. I haven't told anyone I'm an artist. It definitely is a conversation opener for sure.

I will have to print some new cards off.

Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"

That is such great help Kay!

But Katie, seriously? You are in Costa Rica, with the amazing places and beaches with dolphins? Where do you all meet? In a classroom?

BTW if you need me, I can help you with your Spanish!
