Re: Our Chat Room ~ "The Eclectic Cafe"
I thought I'd mentioned it earlier in the cafe, but I guess not. I was really pleased to work through the International Society of Acrylic Painters qualifications fairly quickly so now I get to use ISAP after my name. The society that I thought I was a shoe-in for is proving more difficult, but then they have been around for much longer - the International Society of Experimental Artists. I see what you mean Kay! I'm 2/3 of the way there, so making decent progress.
My friends and I in the GOOPof7, had an excellent summer festival experience in June. We took part in The Works Art and Design Festival, billed as the largest free outdoor art festival in North America. We were juried in for the first time and the experience was great - we even had 4 works sell at the event, which I was not expecting. As one of the juried exhibits the festival provides volunteer docents for the venue, so it is a "light lift" festival experience. (compared with manning your booth for two and a half weeks!)
So it has been a busy spring and summer for me, and I'm coming up for air and a breather. Still getting into the studio, but mostly doing little things, like getting good photos of all the recent work, varnishing, and painting a small tile for a mural mosaic. It is a wildlife mosaic, and I got an all green segment of the mosaic, so I'll post it here when done and surprise you all with something more representational for a change!
Hope you are all doing really well - healthy, happy, productive, enjoying the summer (or winter for those of you in the s hemi). Hope you all have a little something exciting in your lives right now too!
