Re: Cafe Michelangelo...March 2016...

Really nice artwork this month.
Not seeing any free time yet to participate but
hope June's eyes are feeling better. Missing Janet.
Hope Robin is having a blast on vacation!
Susan and Brian are rocking their work!
Love the idea of tree/nature studies.

Have you all seen this? I just saw this again this morning. Sharing just in case. It's a fun way to make a folded book.

Instruction diagram for making an accordion sketchbook, listed as for watercolors
but you can use different papers for drawing

He is using large 22x30 watercolor sheets, but I've used this pattern in the past to make mini books using just normal size (letter size) printer paper.

Re: Cafe Michelangelo...March 2016...

Hi All -

Lovely work Brian and Susan......

I like the suggestion of a thread/study of trees of the past......and Brian's mention of Susan's pencil shoreline looking Oriental....I think it would be fun to have an Oriental classical thread sometime.

The Inn has postcards that are blank on one full side so I did art one 13 of them for family....here are a couple of the better ones...

I'm having fun painting, drawing and moseying around on a fat tire bicycle. I has been a refreshing time.

Hi Susan, good to see that little green dot meaning you are on now....

I hope we all get some art time in today.

We are going into town.......gotta go to the bank, get some more yellow and see a movie my daughter suggested Zootopia......
Did some painting yesterday but don't think any of it is finished .....I'll just try and use it to lead into something more resolved.......Funny how while I'm working I think it is looking great and then when standing back it is a muddle.............gotta work it, work it....

Re: Cafe Michelangelo...March 2016...

wow, Nickel....thanks for posting the folded book instruction!!! Gonna do that

I'm finding the junk journal really easy to connect with.......the book itself is personal and I can just make a mess in it if I like.........it has added alot to my life and freedom........and I like that it came from you, the moderator on wet canvas when I first started this journey......

I like the postcards. They remind me a bit of those beautiful illuminated manuscripts they made in the Middle Ages.

Re: Cafe Michelangelo...March 2016...

more of mine..i sure havent been happy with
what i have been creating...
i think i need to go back to basics..my pencil work..
it slows me down and concentrate more..this was a
wde project...i made a cartoon out of three different
photos..one of a small boy..the other photo of a stickman
and the other photo of a market place..i put the three
together for "Isaiah and the Stickman'' protecting the
city of Dayton ! i think my idea was okay..just not the
final project...
back to pencil for me..!! tyree

Re: Cafe Michelangelo...March 2016...

Hi all. My eyes have cleared up. Now I am battling with an itchy dog illness...Toby has the itchiness. I think I have it on the run now, using coconut oil to soothe his skin. The oil is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial etc...so fingers crossed. I have also ordered stronger medications to use if it doesn't clear. Phew!!

I am busy looking through old ATCs of mine to see which are good for enlarging and doing as paintings.

Robin and Tyree....I like your lovely expressive artwork. Postcards are a good size for getting work completed...not as daunting as a huge artwork! I like ATCs for that reason too. But I haven't done any new ATCs recently.

Hope everyone is keeping fine!!
