I left the box untrimmed as I don't know what I'll be doing with the cover!

Re: Classical Art 1st "Junk Journal" Project

Nice pictures June! I like your ideas!

I have trim my cover some but wish I had kept the flaps to fold over and glue down making the cover thicker but too late now. It's an option to consider.

My cover is becoming more pliable, which I am liking, the more I open and close the book.

I like your signature sewing.

Re: Classical Art 1st "Junk Journal" Project

Thanks nickel! I gathered papers and envelopes to make more signatures. I will leave a little space between signatures to allow them to fatten up after using collage and so forth on the pages as I fill the journal. My next sets will just go in without pre gessoing!! That way I can use the words or images or colours to spark the journal entry!

Its a relaxing project!! I love it.

Re: Classical Art 1st "Junk Journal" Project

Okay - the beginner bookbinding tutorial was really helpful and then watched a couple more. I hope to get something pulled together soon. Have been saving things and starting to get a "fun" feeling........Hope to be back soon with something to share

Re: Classical Art 1st "Junk Journal" Project

A few more pics..more signatures added. Envelopes, flyers, maps...

Small journal but handy for doing just a five minute thing on a page, and because its junk mail mostly, I can relax with it.

I just love what you are doing here. Nickel. The quotes are inspirational. Love your small watercolour set. Is it Japanese?
Carry on the good work!
