Re: The Spotlight - July 2015 - Skies

Is this thread still open? I'll try to post.

Robert, your sky is finished! Perfect! And I love the rambling lines of the trees and purple hills. Great greens in that foliage, too!

Thank you for your comment on mine. We've both left the foregrounds rather unfinished. Not a problem that they're unfinished and spontaneous, but I wonder if both are too light in value?

Blayne, your foreground could be a sand dune. It just looks so fresh.

Good idea, Jay! That turquoise cloud looks so like the ocean except for the wacky tilt!

Re: The Spotlight - July 2015 - Skies

Blayne, I looked but I don't think so. I knocked back how dark the trees were on purpose to make the sky more important and the choppy water is a continuation of the light mass of the bright clouds. It may be a little too light but reworking it would lose the freshness, and I like the way the masses connect.

I stand by what I said about yours, finite perfection. Frame and hang it, move on, let's go do something vacation cool in August!

Kayjay,I like the soft version too but it is still Fantabulous!
Blayne Wow, now this is a really rare sun set! I have seen those but haven't captured it like you did. Good feeling of this sunset!
Robert,Got it done in the nick of time, it has a omnious feeling and forbodes a frightful night to follow. IMHO
