Re: Watermedia "September Challenge"

What a wonderful challenge Vivian, old doors are a passion of mine too
Your garden gate is beautiful

Eilu, what a beautiful rendition of the sanctuary door
Kay , both stunning pieces, I saw the second one on your blog and was drawn here to see all the doors, I have not taken part for some time and will certainly have to submit a piece

Shell. Nice drawing of Vivian's gate, I love your lines, the vine covered entrance is very artistic and colourful
June, a lovely loose painting of the windowsill, the jug of flowers so nice, love the compliments
Kathy, gorgeous old stone entrance, love the under paintings
Misa anther gorgeous stone gate, love the look of the smooth stone
Viv, stunning purple entrance way and shadows

I am inspired now

Re: Watermedia "September Challenge"

Great works, all, and thanks for the enticing theme, Vivien. Here is my chosen old door, a local cathedral door in my town of Dubbo in NSW, Australia. This ink and watercolour sketch was attempted from across the road from the cathedral.

Aussiesketcher - Welcome to the Watermedia Forum!
Wonderful painting of the church door! Your pen & ink and watercolour is rendered beautifully! AND all credit to you for doing this plein air....my outdoor painting never looks as good as this. Well done, I love it!

Re: Watermedia "September Challenge"

Thanks for your kind comments and welcome, Vivien, Kreative K, ArtbyJune, and Daggers. Sketching from 'life', on location, is always dynamic, regardless of how your project turns out. The sandstones were multi-coloured, but artistic licence allowed for a little exaggeration. Well done all who participated.

Love all of your paintings. All has a sense of invitations to step right in
the lovely entrances.

Re: Watermedia "September Challenge"

Sorry everyone, Ive no idea why the last 4 paintings in the Gallery have come out smaller than the first 8! That's never happend to me before!
They were all the same size when I posted them, so I can only assume that Wet Canvas gremlins are at work again and working overtime!
