many years ago, when was waiting on my disability [had osteoarthritis in right hip – bone on bone, no cartilage], all I had for art was a pad of 2’x3′ newsprint to work on… this was one of my results –
for long time thought it had been lost among the shuffling of places to live in – but recently found, and am now doing it in color on a board 20″x32″ –

Noticed that had forgotten to name inks for previous, so – Indian yellow for bamboo, with raw sienna to lay out shading, overlaying the Indian yellow… then sepia for willow bark, and crimson for the floral, with dark and light greens for the leaves…and am using a crow quill nib so far…

https://visioneerwindows.blogspot.comMarch 1, 2018 at 4:12 am #574112I love this drawing! I know the colour version is not finished(looking good so far), but the black and white one is awesome, especially the waves in the back ground.
March 1, 2018 at 12:53 pm #574099continuing with the burnt sienna, marked the side of the railing… will eventually overlay the railing with another color, but this sets the ring markings…
and yes, the surf was why originally did that black ink one, the ikebana added to make more of interest… and if had even an illo board to do it on, am sure it would have sold…

https://visioneerwindows.blogspot.comMarch 5, 2018 at 3:42 pm #574103a lesson yet to learn – when ye tired, rest… do NOT push on…
yes, ink got spilt… fortunately was little left in the old bottle of processed yellow… still…. but is savable –
there is refinement yet to do on the wave droplets. but the water is done… note needed to white parts of the sky as well as a bit of the water to do this, as otherwise the blue would have greened in that area…
because parts of the railing was yellowed, decided to yellow the whole area of railing and sand, which then can have the tray darkened, and a diluted brown, perhaps umber, to layer over the railing… then can go and speckle in the sand – antelope brown and Indian yellow or yellow ochre…
ps – that is a glare on the background water – is really like the left all across…
